Abbeydale in Calgary is bordered by 16th Avenue to the North and Stoney Trail to the east. The community of Abbeydale provides homes in a very convenient location of Calgary’s Northeast quadrant, there are a variety of amenities in the neighborhood and has a great community association along with great schools and a large amount of youth in the area, making Abbeydale a great place and selection for families that are looking to live in a neighborhood that providers a great sense of community.


Primarily a residential neighborhood, the community of Abbeydale features just a simple strip mall. Nonetheless, thanks to its location near Memorial Drive and 16th Avenue, the downtown area can be easily accessed from anywhere within the neighbourhood.

Abbeydale school system offers a few options, Abbeydale elementary school and Maryland Heights school, which also offers french immersion programs. For catholic school elementary aged children can attend Holy Redeemer or Blessed Kateri Tekawitha. For junior high catholic students can look at St. Martha, which also offers French immersion. For public school junior high students can select from Dr G.M. Egbert or Bob Edawrds (French Immersion offered here) and the high schools that serve Abbeydale are Lester B. Pearson High School or Forest Lawn High School (public) or Father Lacombe High School (Catholic)

Demographics: In 2012 Abbeydale had a population of 5,917 with 2,023 dwellings. Average household income is $55,345 in 2000, 17.3% low income residents, with 27.1% of the population being immigrants to Canada, with 2.5% of buildings in the neighborhood being Condominiums or apartments and a rental rate of 22.8%.
